Joel and Ellie make it to smartphones — The Last of Us remaster ported to Android

Enthusiasts continue to explore the PlayStation 4 library.

A developer going by the handle erickmendes22 has presented the first public build of an unofficial Android port of The Last of Us Remastered. The PlayStation 4 version was used as the foundation, as it is less demanding than the The Last of Us Part I remake released in 2022.

The mobile version supports gamepads, on-screen controls, and save transfers. In the settings, users can select a resolution ranging from the original 1080p down to 720p, 540p, or 360p, disable motion blur and sun shadows, as well as cap the frame rate at 30 or 60 FPS. The author tested the port on a RedMagic 10 Pro powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite, achieving an average of 36 FPS at 720p resolution.
