Photographer Sasha Mifetis and model Lada Lyumos made an unexpected visit to the universe of the action-adventure Dino Crisis, which still boasts devoted fans to this day.
During the photo shoot, the cosplayer portrayed Regina, a top-tier operative of the secret S.O.R.T. unit carrying out perilous missions around the world.
Visually, Regina is instantly memorable thanks to her bright red hair with its signature short haircut and expressive eyes. In the first installment of the game, her iconic look was a form-fitting black suit made of specialized material that protected her body in battle and accentuated her athletic physique, while in the sequel she traded it for lighter and more practical combat gear with a green vest.
Notably, her striking appearance was crafted by the developers as a contrast to the gloomy, cold corridors of research facilities overrun with prehistoric predators. By nature, Regina embodies the ideal soldier: composure, an iron will, and astonishing level-headedness in high-stress situations.
She is fiercely independent and skeptical of authority, which frequently sparks arguments with her squad leader, Gail, whose harsh and at times ruthless methods she does not condone. Despite her professional discipline and combat training, Regina is not devoid of empathy, always striving to rescue survivors and possessing a great sense of humor, routinely dropping sarcastic remarks at attacking dinosaurs.
Interest in the character is further fueled by the fact that she is not merely a female commando, but a technical specialist capable of modifying guns on the fly and skillfully crafting medicine or tranquilizers. Unlike many horror protagonists of that era, Regina does not succumb to panic when facing resurrected monsters of the past and handles any firearm with equal effectiveness.
