In Chants of Sennaar, players must decipher five fictional languages and help the peoples of the tower understand each other again.

This week, mobile Epic Games Store users can claim Chants of Sennaar for free — an unusual linguistic puzzle game by Rundisc.

The game is set in a mysterious tower inspired by the biblical legend of Babel. Five distinct peoples who have long ceased to understand one another live across its different tiers. The protagonist sets out for the top of the tower to tear down language barriers and restore communication among its inhabitants, but to do so, they will have to learn five completely unfamiliar languages from scratch.

Chants of Sennaar was released on PC in September 2023 and earned acclaim from both players and critics. The puzzle game boasts 98% positive reviews on Steam, and at the New York Game Awards ceremony, it was named the best indie game.
