Marvel’s Wolverine

Sony opened State of Play with a big demonstration of Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games. After a short cinematic teaser, the developers showed a full gameplay segment on PS5 Pro. Logan slices enemies with his claws, throws enemies off roofs, and then jumps onto targets from a great distance. Some enemies have shields that allow them to withstand more than one hit.

The video demonstrated stealth elements, minor environmental destruction, health regeneration (when wounded, the hero's adamantium skeleton appears and heals), and a motorcycle chase segment. The combat uses color indicators for attacks familiar from previous studio games, and the abundance of cutscenes hints at a concentrated linear structure. Additionally, Jean Grey will appear in the story, fighting alongside Logan.

The release is scheduled for September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5.

Along with the reveal, Sony opened pre-orders for PlayStation 5 and PC. The Ultimate Edition includes additional costumes, chromatic color schemes, a Year One Season Pass with four characters and one arena. The release will take place on August 6, 2026.

Rayman Legends Retold

A massive reinterpretation of Ubisoft's cult platformer. The main change is the complete transition of the visual style to 2.5D and full 3D with cinematic scenes. Also announced are an expanded soundtrack, retained four-player local co-op, and the chaotic competitive Kung Foot mode. The game is scheduled for release on October 1, 2026, and pre-orders are already open in digital stores for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.

Bancho the Chef

MINTROCKET, the studio behind the indie hit Dave the Diver, announced a full-fledged prequel titled Bancho the Chef. Unlike the original pixelated game, the new project is rendered in full 3D with vibrant, hand-drawn graphics.

The story will tell of Bancho's youth long before he took over the Bancho Sushi restaurant in the Blue Hole. Players will travel across Asia, learn from great chefs, and hone their culinary skills on their path to greatness.

The game's release date has not yet been announced; the project is in active development for PlayStation 5 and other platforms.

Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen

Game designer Ikumi Nakamura, known for The Evil Within duology, presented the first gameplay trailer for her new project Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen — a dynamic action game based on Japanese mythology.

The action takes place on the streets of the metropolis Kemuri — a city on the border with the afterlife. The player takes on the role of a yokai hunter and, using a yokai subjugation mechanic reminiscent of Devil Trigger from the DMC series, fights otherworldly creatures. The project is designed for single-player or co-op for up to three people. Release on PlayStation 5 is scheduled for 2027.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

Crystal Dynamics, in collaboration with Flying Wild Hog, showed a new trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis — a remake of the first part of Lara Croft's adventures. The project reinterprets the original adventure with modern graphics, updated design, and the preservation of key classic elements: Lara explores ancient ruins, solves puzzles, encounters traps, and uncovers archaeological mysteries. The video shows new cinematic episodes, large-scale locations, and platforming — the reinterpretation correctly evokes the spirit of Uncharted — one couldn't ask for anything better.

The release will take place on February 12, 2027, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-orders are already open; the deluxe edition includes early access two days before the official release.

The Lost Wild

Great Ape Games studio, in collaboration with Annapurna Interactive, showed an atmospheric cinematic for The Lost Wild. This is a bloody first-person horror game with an 18+ rating, inspired by Dino Crisis, Alien: Isolation, and the aesthetics of "Jurassic World." The story, which will take 6 to 10 hours to complete, centers on journalist Saskia, who is stranded at an abandoned Japanese research complex amidst dense jungles.

Gameplay relies on stealth and distracting dinosaurs using improvised gadgets. Ancient lizards behave according to their species and are controlled by an advanced AI system, so it will be very difficult for the heroine to survive. The release is scheduled for 2027 on PlayStation 5 and PC.

The developers showcased a montage of combat scenes that had already appeared in previous demonstrations and announced the official release date — the game will be released on September 9, 2026, on PlayStation 5.

The developers specifically emphasized that this is just a warm-up before a large-scale reveal: a full gameplay trailer and pre-orders are planned for the summer, and a deep dive into the story and mechanics will take place as part of a separate State of Play later in the summer.

Dune: Awakening

Funcom studio presented a story teaser and the official announcement of the console version of Dune: Awakening for PlayStation 5. The final version of the project will receive many technical improvements, additions, and a redesigned balance, adapting survival to the single-player format. The release on PS5 will take place on September 22, 2026, and pre-orders can be placed in the PS Store now.

Key new features include a deep crafting system for unique weapons, a fresh story scenario, and the appearance of the protagonist from Dynasty Warriors: Origins. Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Capcom showed the fifth trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword and announced the release date for the samurai action game, in which the main character will be Miyamoto Musashi, owner of the Oni gauntlet, who finds himself in early Edo period Kyoto, besieged by Genma demons.

The new videos showed bloody sword duels, parries, environmental destruction, parkour, spectacular finishers, and a boss fight with Shuten Doji on Mount Oe — it looks beautiful, expensive, brutal — in short, Capcom is preparing its fourth hit this year.

A demo version was separately presented, which is already available on PlayStation 5 — and in it, you can complete one of the first levels in Kiyomizu-dera temple and fight Sasaki Ganryu. The game will be released on September 25, 2026, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-orders are already open.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

Bandai Namco showed a new trailer for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. The eighth installment takes place in July 2029. The Central Usea Federation has been attacked by the Republic of Sotoa: a significant part of the country is occupied, the army is scattered, and the hero is left drifting at sea aboard the aging aircraft carrier Endurance.

There, the player is assigned the callsign Wings of Theve — the name of a legendary ace and a symbol of hope for the capital of Usea. Now he must lead the resistance in the sky. The game promises adrenaline-pumping aerial battles and the signature feeling of flight freedom.

The project will be released on October 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-orders are already open: they grant the F-14A aircraft and exclusive access to Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War. Deluxe edition buyers will receive three days of early access, cosmetics, and a premium pass.

ILL

Team Clout and Mundfish Powerhouse publishing house presented a new story trailer for ILL — a realistic first-person action-horror game.

The game has long attracted the attention of domestic gamers due to the studio's Russian roots and an impressive staff of specialists who worked on Until Dawn, "It: Welcome to Derry," and other well-known horrors. With each new demonstration, the project looks more terrifying, visceral, polished, and expensive — cooperation with Mundfish clearly benefited the game. ILL is expected to be released in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Control Resonant

This time, the main character will be Dylan Faden, Jesse's brother, and the story will extend beyond the Oldest House. A paranormal crisis will engulf Manhattan, turning the city into a new epicenter of chaos. Unlike the first part, Resonant will shift towards a more dynamic open-world action RPG with progression and choices.

The game will be released on September 24, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Pre-orders are already open: deluxe edition buyers will receive two days of early access, as well as additional bonus content.

Until Dawn 2

Firesprite studio announced Until Dawn 2 — a full-fledged sequel to the interactive horror game, which is being developed without the participation of Supermassive Games. The trailer introduces viewers to a group of ambitious young bloggers (among the actors, Dacre Montgomery from "Stranger Things" stands out with his appearance) who go to a remote island with a creepy history to shoot content for social networks, but in pursuit of likes, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a brutal maniac.

The game will retain the signature moral choice system, QTE elements, and the "butterfly effect" mechanic, where even minor decisions can completely change the fate of the characters. Until Dawn 2 will be released in 2027 exclusively on PlayStation 5.

God of War Laufey

The main event and final chord of the presentation was the announcement of God of War Laufey by Cory Barlog and Santa Monica Studio — a large-scale action game for PlayStation 5, which received four official videos at once, including a gigantic 24-minute demonstration of pure gameplay. The project is a spin-off of the Norse duology, where the main role is given for the first time not to Kratos, but to his second wife — Laufey (Faye), whose role is reprised by Deborah Ann Woll ("Daredevil: Born Again").

The story begins where God of War (2018) left off, but shows that after burning her body, the heroine does not disappear, but is transported to a surreal afterlife of the gods, where her new adventure will unfold. Insider leaks were fully confirmed: the setting mixes Egyptian, Aztec, Chinese, and Japanese mythological motifs, and one of the key antagonists will be Sekhmet, the Egyptian goddess of war.

In terms of gameplay, the game is a much faster and more dynamic slasher than the Norse saga. Although many animations are taken directly from Kratos' moveset, they have been sped up and refined. As a weapon, Faye uses a talking sword and magic: her right hand is responsible for blade attacks (which can also release tentacles), and her left hand is for spells. Also, in the shown segment, the heroine was helped by a cube in which the sword had previously rested.

The game will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5, and its release will take place "soon."
