Gears of War: E-Day

The Coalition studio powerfully opened the Xbox presentation with a gameplay trailer for Gears of War: E-Day, which serves as a prequel to the entire series and tells the story of the beginning of the Locust invasion of the city of Kalona through the eyes of young Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago.

The video showed positional battles on the ruined streets of the city. Confirmed mechanics include classic active reload and a circular weapon selection menu. Marcus deftly wields an early version of the Lancer assault rifle with a bayonet instead of a chainsaw, performing brutal bloody finishers on enemies. Despite the sluggish behavior of opponents in the first half of the video, the final montage of battles in iconic armor looks exactly as you'd expect from a game with the name Gears of War. And the extended demonstration at a separate Gears of War Direct dispelled any remaining fears: Marcus Fenix is back in all his brutal glory!

Rumors that appeared on the eve of the presentation were confirmed: the game will not be released on PlayStation 5. Gears of War: E-Day will be released on October 6, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game will join the Xbox Game Pass catalog on day one, and buyers of the premium edition will receive 5 days of early access.

Fable

Playground Games studio presented a new cinematic trailer for the RPG Fable. Unlike previous bright and distinctly fairy-tale showcases, this video is made in dark tones, which once again proves the diversity of the atmosphere of the upcoming reboot.

The focus was on Isabel, the Hero of the Hinterlands, played by actress Hayley Atwell. She reflects on the nature of heroic deeds and states that Albion no longer needs classic defenders. The montage of scenes demonstrates a harsh world, a combat system, and signature British humor.

Fable will be released on February 23, 2027, simultaneously on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The game will be available in the Xbox Game Pass catalog from day one, and players who purchase the premium edition will receive 5 days of early access.

Halo: Campaign Evolved

Halo Studios presented a vibrant gameplay trailer for Halo: Campaign Evolved — a massive remake of the original 2001 campaign, created on Unreal Engine 5.

The project completely reworks the classic and adds three new story missions featuring Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson. The developers have refreshed the gameplay with sprint and aiming, and expanded the arsenal with nine iconic weapons from later installments of the franchise. Players will be able to hijack vehicles on the fly and pilot a "Ghost." The shooter can be played in four-player co-op online or two-player split-screen.

Rumors of exclusivity loss were officially confirmed: Master Chief will visit enemy territory for the first time. Halo: Campaign Evolved will be released on July 28, 2026, simultaneously on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get the game on day one, and premium edition buyers will get 5 days of early access.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy

Asobo Studio presented a cinematic gameplay trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy — a spin-off set 15 years before the events of Requiem. The main character is the young and daring rogue Sophia. Unlike Amicia, she is a born fighter, so the gameplay shifts focus from stealth to furious melee combat with parries, dismemberment, powerful counterattacks, and cinematic scenes in the style of Uncharted.

According to the plot, Sophia arrives on the Mediterranean island of Minotaur in search of treasures and unraveling her own past. Unique mechanics include switching between Sophia's Middle Ages and the Antiquity of the Minoan civilization, as well as light puzzles with the ancient sphere of Daedalus. The main threat will be a mythical creature associated with the Macula curse.

The release will take place on August 27, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. On release day, the game will join the Xbox Game Pass catalog.

Persona 4 Revival

SEGA and Atlus studio pleased JRPG fans with a full gameplay trailer for Persona 4 Revival — a massive remake of the cult fourth installment. The plot transports players to the quiet provincial town of Inaba, which is shaken by a series of mysterious murders.

The main character and his friends encounter the phenomenon of the Midnight Channel — a portal to the otherworld inside televisions, inhabited by dangerous Shadows. In addition to a graphical update to the level of Persona 5 Royal, the game received significant gameplay improvements: a powerful ultimate attack mechanic, a turn-passing system, updated social links, and other improvements from the modern lineup.

The release will take place on February 18, 2027, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. On release day, the game will join the Xbox Game Pass catalog.

State of Decay 3

Undead Labs studio broke its long silence and presented the first trailer for the survival game State of Decay 3. The gameplay montage focused on the cooperative survival of a group of heroes who explore abandoned locations, set up outposts, and encounter evolved types of zombies, such as monsters spitting acid in the style of Left 4 Dead. Players will have to develop a unified community, coordinate four-person sorties, and remember the mechanic of irreversible companion death.

The long-awaited project finally has an official release window. State of Decay 3 will be released in 2027 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get access to the game on release day.

Sea of Thieves: Custom Seas

Rare studio, as part of the twentieth season of Sea of Thieves, presented a free update Custom Seas, which literally gives players "the keys to the seas." The main innovation will be an advanced level editor and custom modes, a kind of creative mode that allows you to create your own scenarios - from rifle duels to large-scale naval battles on rowboats.

In addition, the update will add advanced tools for the in-game camera, which content creators will appreciate when creating cinematic videos. Users will be able to customize server parameters, spawn any items, or simply arrange cozy locations for relaxing with friends.

For those who don't like to build themselves, the update will provide access to a huge catalog of user-generated content from the gaming community. Custom Seas will be released on June 18, 2026, on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 5.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja studio officially announced the hardcore action game Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, presenting a spectacular debut trailer. The sequel will continue to develop the theme of dark fantasy in the setting of the Three Kingdoms era in Ancient China.

The trailer demonstrated both cinematic scenes and gameplay fragments with an improved combat system based on Chinese martial arts. Players will have to face new terrifying demons, enlist the support of legendary historical heroes, and use new magical abilities in battle. The developers promise to maintain the high dynamics of battles, making parries and counterattacks even more tactile.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is scheduled for release in early 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Senua

Ninja Theory studio made an unexpected announcement of the action game Senua — a direct story continuation of the Hellblade duology. The developers deliberately removed the word Hellblade from the title to emphasize a massive genre shift: the game has transformed into a full-fledged adventure with freedom of exploration and dynamic battles.

The story unfolds in purgatory, which has taken on the appearance of the heroine's homeland. To reunite with her loved ones, Senua must pass through linear but spacious interconnected locations, twice the size of those in Hellblade II.

The combat system has been completely redesigned: battles with groups of enemies, verticality, stealth, throwable weapons, and hardcore boss fights have been added. Using new focus abilities, the heroine will be able to literally "break reality" to solve puzzles and control crowds in combat.

For the first time in 12 years, the entire 85-person studio is working on the project, while the horror game Project Mara has been officially canceled. Senua will be released in 2027 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, directly on Game Pass, and PlayStation 5.

DOOM: The Dark Ages — Revelations

id Software studio announced Revelations — the first major story DLC for the shooter DOOM: The Dark Ages. The expansion will continue the tradition of expansions in the spirit of The Ancient Gods and will move the action to the harsh snowy locations of the Doom Slayer's cursed personal hell.

The main change in gameplay will be the loss of the famous shield-saw. Instead, the Demon Slayer will receive a scepter-spear. This multifunctional weapon can be used for furious melee attacks, thrown at enemies, to deflect enemy projectiles, and also used as a grappling hook for vertical movement and levitation. In the expansion, the Slayer will be without his iconic helmet.

The expansion will not be included in the basic Game Pass subscription and will require a separate purchase or ownership of the premium edition. DOOM: The Dark Ages — Revelations will be released on July 7, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

In this 1-4 player co-op sandbox, people will be the main resource. Players will have to recruit followers through propaganda, build and strengthen a settlement, and assign roles, from farmers to doctors. It will be possible to customize unique cult dogmas — whether it's UFO worship or cannibalism.

Players will have to fight back against disgruntled locals, police, and the government using a crazy arsenal, including mini-guns, snake launchers, and combat tractors.

Fallout 76: Infestations

Bethesda presented a goofy and chaotic trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase for the fresh, already 68th free content update Infestations for the multiplayer RPG Fallout 76. The update adds dynamic open events to Appalachia, where players will have to team up to clear areas of huge hordes of super mutants, raiders, rampaging combat robots, and mutated fauna.

The main reward for participating in these battles will be exclusive four-star legendary gear and weapon elements. In addition, a public test of the full next-gen version of the game will start in June.

The update is already available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PS5. In honor of the release, daily gifts are being given away in the game from June 7 to 15, and from June 8 to 15, everyone can try out the features of the Fallout 1st premium subscription for free.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour

SEGA presented the debut trailer for Crazy Taxi: World Tour — a massive reboot of the cult arcade franchise, developed by SEGA Sapporo studio with the participation of the original games' game director Kenji Kanno.

The game retains its signature crazy spirit: players will have to deliver passengers at breakneck speed, use insane trampolines, and cut through the most unexpected places. Judging by the footage, the sequel will go beyond the familiar San Francisco and usual activities. In addition to classic customer delivery, the trailer showed new activities — such as fishing and pizza delivery.

The legend's return will take place in 2027. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer is available at the following link: YouTube.

Players will find a redesigned loot collection system, new mob archetypes, and full cross-play from day one for four-player co-op mode.

Magicians: The Devil’s Deal

Focus Entertainment and Uppercut Games, founded by former BioShock developers, presented the debut trailer for the story-driven first-person shooter Magicians: The Devil’s Deal. The project's atmosphere is inspired by the era of Harry Houdini and the aesthetics of the early 20th century.

Players will take on the role of Jacob Mentuero — a fallen illusionist who made a deal with the devil and found himself a hostage in a twisted infernal world called Theaterland. The main character relies on stage tricks that have turned into real deadly magic: throwing playing cards and a magic wand. To escape the eccentric Satan's trap, the illusionist will have to explore intricate locations, fight hell's minions, and defeat insane "Masters," taking their magical powers for himself.

Magicians: The Devil’s Deal is scheduled for release in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The project will join the Xbox Game Pass catalog on release day. The trailer is available at the following link: YouTube.

Valor Mortis

One More Level studio, creators of the Ghostrunner duology, and 501 Game publishing house presented a gameplay trailer for their new project — the dark hardcore first-person action game Valor Mortis. The developers elegantly blended soulslike mechanics with the frantic pace of their previous hits.

The game's events unfold in an alternate Napoleonic Wars era, heavily infused with supernatural mischief. Players will take on the role of William — a soldier fallen in battle who rose from the dead by the will of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. His appearance and voice were provided by actor Vincent Cassel. Armed with sabers, rapiers, muskets, and otherworldly powers, the hero must uncover a large-scale conspiracy and protect the emperor's power from insane soldiers, monsters, and combat robots.

Valor Mortis will be released on September 24, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The project will join the Xbox Game Pass catalog on release day.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Season 1

ZeniMax Online studio at Xbox Games Showcase presented a cinematic trailer for the first full season of the multiplayer role-playing game The Elder Scrolls Online. After the game's transition to a seasonal distribution model, all fresh content becomes free for owners of the base version.

In Season 1, the developers bring the Thieves Guild back into focus, content for which has not been updated for a decade, since 2016. The storyline will unfold in the kingdom of High Rock, Daggerfall, and will tell about the confrontation between the thieves' guild and the Coldain cartel — a shadowy clan of merchants taking over organized crime. The trailer promises new quests with stealth infiltrations, thefts, and assassinations, and at the end of the video, the authors tease the appearance of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. Along with the new story, players can expect fresh activities, a new trial Crimson Velt, and the "Sages' Safe" mechanic.

The launch of the first season of The Elder Scrolls Online will take place on July 8, 2026, on PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PS5.

Age of Empires IV: Raiders of the North

A large-scale expansion, Raiders of the North, has been announced for the historical strategy game Age of Empires IV. The main innovation will be two new full-fledged factions: Vikings and Scots. Players will take control of northern conquerors and lead them to new dynamic battlefields. The expansion will add fresh gameplay mechanics, new unit types, and special "Crucible" missions. The developers promise to significantly update the strategic balance and offer large-scale story campaigns dedicated to raids and the defense of European lands.

Age of Empires IV: Raiders of the North will be released in autumn 2026 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and — for the first time in the series' history — will come to PlayStation 5. The trailer is available at the following link: YouTube.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Konami presented a new trailer for the 2D action game Castlevania: Belmont's Curse — the first full-fledged classic release in the series in 12 years.

Development is handled by Evil Empire studio, content creators for Dead Cells, with the support of Motion Twin. The game's events unfold in 1499 in medieval Paris, overrun by demons, 23 years after the finale of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. The main character of the video is young Rose Belmont — daughter of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades. Gameplay-wise, the project is a classic non-linear metroidvania with an open map of Paris and the castle, a free-whip attack mechanic in all directions, and a unique Arcane skill system based on Tarot cards. The artistic design of the key arts is handled by the cult Japanese artist Katsuya Terada.

The release will take place on October 15, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. The trailer is available at the following link: YouTube.

Tom Kenny, the iconic voice of the character from the original trilogy, returns to voice Spyro. The main gameplay feature of the new installment will be full and free flight. Players will be able to soar into the air at any moment, dive to gain speed, and use fire breath to create updrafts. Spyro will embark on a completely new fantasy world to challenge an unseen evil, while the game is positioned as an ideal entry point for newcomers, carefully preserving the atmosphere of the classics.

The release will take place in spring 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get the game on release day.

Clockwork Revolution

inXile Entertainment studio, led by Brian Fargo, presented a new gameplay trailer for the large-scale first-person RPG Clockwork Revolution. The fresh video focused on the plot's premise in the spirit of "a heist gone wrong," after which chronological manipulations come into play.

Players will take on the role of a rebel in the dystopian steampunk metropolis of Avalon, secretly ruled by the ruthless Lady Ironwood, who rewrites history for the benefit of the upper class.

The main feature will be a unique chronometer gadget: by traveling between past and present, players will be able to influence key events, which, following the "butterfly effect" principle, will radically change the appearance of the city, the alignment of factions, the environment, and the fates of characters in real time. The trailer also showed in detail the combat system using futuristic Victorian-era weapons and various abilities such as time rewind.

The full release of Clockwork Revolution is scheduled for 2027. Microsoft officially confirmed that the game will be an Xbox Series X|S console exclusive, will be released on PC, and will join the Xbox Game Pass catalog on release day.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Activision and Infinity Ward studio closed the main Xbox presentation with a massive showcase of the DMZ mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. In this hardcore mode, players, solo or in squads, will deploy into combat zones to collect valuable military technologies. The developers are betting on a living sandbox with dynamic weather changes, on-the-fly objectives, and a new advanced item crafting system via 3D printers on the map.

The game's story campaign will be entirely single-player and will unfold on the Korean Peninsula, engulfed in full-scale war after the North's invasion of the South. Players will see the conflict from two perspectives: as a South Korean recruit, Park, amidst brutal trench warfare, and as Captain Price, who, along with the remnants of Task Force 141, conducts covert sorties in Mumbai and Paris as international outcasts.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be released on October 23, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
