Two weeks before the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, journalists will not receive early access to the game. The developers have confirmed their approach.
On September 4, 2025, Hollow Knight: Silksong, one of the most anticipated indie games of recent years, will be released. The Team Cherry studio project has become a large-scale sequel to the 2017 hit and has long fueled the interest of Metroidvania fans.
Expectations are high: players are waiting for a vast world, complex battles, and even more secrets compared to the original. Seven years of work on the project have only intensified emotions, and each new teaser has caused heated discussions in the community.
But there will be no pre-release reviews. Journalists will not receive early codes, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier reported. He noted:
"If you're curious: Team Cherry told me they aren't planning on sending out early codes for Silksong (they felt it would be unfair for critics to play before Kickstarter backers and other players do), so don't expect reviews until the game is out."
Therefore, the first ratings will appear only after the release, when the game reaches a wide audience.
