Kernel Level anti-cheat is often used to combat this — it tracks cheats, bots, and other violations at the system level, and sometimes even reports the removal of other games. Such solutions have been used in Call of Duty, Valorant, and Apex Legends, and now Garfield Kart 2 — All You Can Drift will get them.
According to information on the Steam page and discussions on Reddit, the new installment of Garfield Kart will indeed require Kernel Level anti-cheat. It seems strange for a family racing game, but there is an explanation: the series has an active community of online racing and speedruns. Built-in protection will help maintain the integrity of competitions.
One player noted that in another racing game, the score was easily faked, which frustrated honest participants. Anti-cheat here is not a whim, but a necessary protective measure.
Garfield Kart 2 will be released on September 10, 2025.
