The game by JOYCITY and WOORE studios focused not only on scoring goals, but also on spectacular team play and impressive combinations. This attracted an audience tired of classic simulators and looking for a more dynamic, arcade-style solution.
The developers have confirmed a sequel. FreeStyle Football 2 will be released in the second quarter of 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The project will also appear on Game Pass. The creators promise expanded customization, a developed club system, and an emphasis on esports competitions. According to WOORE CEO, Myungsu Kim, the key elements should be attack building, teamwork, and the joy of shared victories.
By release, 12 characters with unique skills are planned: quick passes, team support skills, and powerful shots in crucial moments. Matches will be held in a 5-on-5 online format, where interaction, coordination, and tactics will be key, rather than individual tricks.
