Retroid has announced that its new Dual Screen Add-on – an additional screen with a mount for handheld consoles – will not work with the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro device.
This announcement came just days after the developers had already begun sending out pre-orders for this new product, which was previously claimed to support the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, Retroid Pocket 5, and Retroid Pocket Mini models.
The MediaTek chipset used in the Pocket 4 Pro causes malfunctions in the internal board of the accessory. Because of this, Retroid had to cancel and refund those who ordered the Pocket 4 Pro and Dual Screen Add-on bundle but did not purchase the Pocket 5 or Mini directly from the company.
In addition, it was revealed that the team will release a free OTA update for the Dual Screen Add-on, which will fix noticeable delays noted in early reviews. The company claims to have already fixed this issue, but buyers have not yet received their devices to verify this.
