Critics unanimously emphasize that the updated version is a good example of how to bring famous products back to life. For many players, it's familiar, brutal, and tense gameplay, but in a new, significantly more spectacular part.
The reviews are dominated by positive words regarding the visuals and frame rates. The developers have taken care of detailed textures in 4K, realistic lighting, and improved reflections and shadows, making everything look impressive and natural at the same time. The game runs smoothly, offering a stable 60 frames per second in the campaign and network modes, and even up to 120 fps with the appropriate settings.
Reviewers noted the fast loading times and the absence of unnecessary interruptions in the action. At the same time, reviewers praise the fact that, despite modern improvements, the game has retained the spirit of the original.
There were some criticisms. Some reviewers note that Reloaded lacked fresh content – no new missions, weapons, or modes, and the absence of Horde mode was particularly painful for some fans. Changes in aesthetics are also criticized – the more realistic graphic design deprived the slightly comic style of its unique charm. Some technical problems, shortcomings in the cover system, and limited actions of artificial intelligence opponents were also noted.
Gears of War: Reloaded is available on PC, but the Steam reviews are not encouraging. Currently, the project has only 50% positive reviews from players.
