The developers of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 continue to reveal various details of the project and their creative vision. During an interview, they clarified that they are not making a GTA.
Narrative designer Ian Thomas noted that "The plot will always progress [move forward]" and ultimately it is up to the players to decide whether to "explore the world or focus on the main storyline."
Thomas explained: "We are trying to tell a specific story" that has something like a "series of nights" with its own "special plot twists." Players need to rest in the Haven, and while resting, the character will have dreams, "sharing consciousness with the detective-Fabien."
