Call of Duty is coming to the big screen. Paramount and Activision have announced the launch of a large-scale project.
Paramount Pictures and Activision have announced a partnership to produce a feature film adaptation of the popular game franchise Call of Duty. Paramount CEO David Ellison called the project "a dream come true."
"As a longtime Call of Duty fan, I feel a tremendous responsibility and honor to work on the film adaptation," said Ellison. According to him, the film will be shot with the same level of quality as "Top Gun: Maverick" and will be able to attract both longtime fans and a new audience.
Call of Duty remains one of the most successful series in the industry: game sales have exceeded 500 million copies, and in the US, the franchise has maintained its revenue leadership for 16 years. The plan for the development of the film adaptation includes preserving the key elements of the original and expanding the audience through a cinematic approach and large-scale battle scenes.
Details of the plot, cast, and release dates have not yet been disclosed. In the near future, fans of the franchise can expect the release of a new game — Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — and the start of work on the first film in the series.
