In anticipation of the release of Marvel Zombies, the studio has released a trailer confirming its mature rating.
The animated mini-series Marvel Zombies expands on the zombie storyline that began in the "What If...?" episode, immersing viewers in a post-apocalyptic version of the MCU where a virus has turned superheroes into bloodthirsty monsters. The plot focuses on a group of survivors forced to fight not only for their own lives but also for the fate of a ruined world.
The trailer is filled with violent scenes: Blade Knight slices zombies to pieces, Spider-Man severs dozens of heads with his web. These scenes hint that the series has earned its "adults only" rating for a reason. The trailer features a collaborative track by BABYMETAL and Poppy — from me to u.
The project is being developed by showrunner and director Bryan Andrews, as well as screenwriter Zeb Wells. The original actors, including Elizabeth Olsen, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Simu Liu, and others, have been brought in to voice their characters.
Marvel Zombies will be released on September 24 exclusively on Disney+ and will consist of four episodes.
