Recently, a Wccftech journalist spoke with the creative director of The Blood of Dawnwalker and during the conversation they touched upon the technical component of the project.

A modern Unreal Engine 5 is used for the vampire RPG, but not the latest version.

When the journalist mentioned the big problem of the UE5 engine — stuttering, especially in open-world games, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz said:

«We use ready-made Unreal solutions, but we also have a lot of our own code that our programmers actually layer on top of the Unreal code. That's why integrating the new version of Unreal that just came out is so difficult. We have our own solutions that may be incompatible».

Switching to a new version means that programmers will have to weigh whether the existing code will be broken.

The team is in no hurry to change the version, but is closely monitoring the development of UE 5:

«We check what advantages each update gives us and how much it increases the amount of work [in case of transition], so we have to make decisions very carefully each time. But I know that programmers evaluate each new version released».
