Players from different regions have stormed into Hollow Knight Silksong. Among them were users from China.

Shortly after launch, some users began to complain — they were not satisfied with the quality of the Silksong translation into Chinese (Simplified).

Judging by the reviews of the dissatisfied, the authors chose a bad font; and this translation is "unworthy", the resulting text is "...so pretentious that it does not correspond to Chinese speech norms. The writing style is lame. It is half classical, half folk [modern], without any ancient charm, like a middle school student suffering from chuunibyou [eighth-grader syndrome — when a person is obsessed with the idea of their own greatness]."

User 汪涵 said:

"As translators, they are completely devoid of literary literacy. They are a perfect example of a witty young man posing as ancient. They distort characters, use ridiculous geographical names, and stumble when faced with dialogue [..]. They are stinky intellectuals who still want players to worship them, but when they are scolded, they just clear their feed and play dead [...] Where simplicity is needed, they exaggerate and falsify semantics [meaning] to emphasize their exceptional literary talent [...] Moreover, [the font used] is incredibly ugly."

According to available data, for 1.5 thousand positive reviews of Hollow Knight Silksong in Chinese (Simplified), there are 1.1 thousand negative ones.
