It recently became known that Blizzard Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Turtle WoW — these are the developers of fan servers.

A few days later, the official version of WoW began to experience problems. Reports began to come in that there were interruptions in access to the WoW game worlds in Europe. It seems that this only affected some members of the community.

While Blizzard was restoring the operation of the WoW servers, some began to build theories, for example, BlackMushrooms spoke out:

«I found my tinfoil hat. Is it possible that the servers have been slow [glitching] for the last few days because the Turtle team was annoyed by the lawsuit and [responded] with a DDoS attack on Blizzard servers?».

Not everyone shares this opinion, as it is assumed that significant resources would be required to break through the Blizzard / Microsoft server protection.

However, discussion participant Quiet_Warthog5088 recalled that there was a case when a «bunch of random» staged a DDoS attack on Blizzard — then many hardcore characters on WoW Classic died.
