Andrés Muschietti plans to delve into Stephen King's mythology in the prequel series "It."
On October 26, 2025, HBO will premiere the series "It: Welcome to Derry" — a prequel that will not only expand the story of Pennywise, but also connect it with the mythology of "The Dark Tower." According to director Andrés Muschietti, the project should show that the horrors of Derry are only part of a larger picture, uniting many of King's works into a single macro-universe.

In "The Dark Tower" — one of Stephen King's key works — It is described as an entity from the Todash dimension, inhabited by ancient monsters and embodiments of chaos. Previously, the film adaptations only hinted at such intersections, but the series promises to show them directly for the first time.
