Arrowhead Studios CEO Shams Jorjani officially confirmed that the team has plans for Helldivers 3 in response to a fan's question.
According to him, the next game in the series will have a social hub on a space station, reminiscent of the Tower from Destiny 2. But the release will have to wait a long time — the studio is focused on supporting Helldivers 2. Later, Jorjani clarified that when talking about a new game with a similar function, he meant "Arrowhead's next project," but the wording still confirmed that Helldivers 3 is already in development.
Helldivers 2 has been steadily holding its own in the market since its release and stands out among service games. The developers continue to release updates, including recent crossovers like Halo, so the second part still has a lot of time ahead.
Despite this, players are confident that the third part is already in the early stages of creation. Creative Director Johan mentioned working on the concept of a new Arrowhead game at the end of last year, which fueled rumors. The community greeted the confirmation of plans with joy, although the developers emphasize that Helldivers 2 is currently the priority.
According to forecasts, Helldivers 3 will not appear until 5–6 years from now. At the same time, the question remains whether the studio will keep its own engine or switch to Decima or Unreal Engine 5 due to possible limitations.
