Mark Ruffalo, the Hulk from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is eager to work with Jon Bernthal's Punisher.
Last month, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Mark Ruffalo would return as Bruce Banner in the next Spider-Man film. Now, in a new conversation with the publication, the actor once again ironically hinted at his participation in the project "Spider-Man: A Brand New Day," where the Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal, will also appear.
"If I'm going to do it (star in 'Spider-Man') — and there are rumors that I will — as soon as I get the script and understand that it's true, I'll be happy. I can't wait to work with Jon Bernthal. We don't know each other, but we have a mutual friend — Lena Dunham, who just adores him. And so do I. He plays the Punisher like no one else," Ruffalo said at the premiere of the series "Task".
Previous leaks hinted that Ruffalo might appear in the new "Spider-Man" as Red Hulk. For the actor, this could be his first appearance in a solo Spider-Man film, despite participating in crossovers like "The Avengers." His last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in the series "She-Hulk" in 2022.
"Spider-Man: A Brand New Day" will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
