The main surprise of September's Nintendo Direct was a new game in the Fire Emblem series.
Nintendo concluded its September Direct broadcast with the announcement of the tactical RPG Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave — the first full-fledged installment in the series after Fire Emblem Engage.
The plot revolves around the Heroic Games — a grand tournament where the winner gets a chance to appear before the Divine Monarch and make any wish. Against this backdrop unfolds a story filled with intrigue, personal dramas, and hidden motives. As before, the game combines turn-based tactics with emotionally charged storytelling.
The trailer introduced some key characters, but the appearance of Sothis — a goddess from Fire Emblem: Three Houses — caused particular excitement. This may indicate plot connections with previous installments or further development of the overall universe.
In terms of gameplay, the project remains true to its roots: players can expect turn-based battles, a tactical map, character development, and a story with many moral choices.
Intelligent Systems is still in charge of development. The exact release date has not yet been revealed, but the release is expected in 2026. The project will be a Switch 2 exclusive.
