According to StreamCharts, the peak audience of Nintendo Direct reached 2.92 million people, exceeding the iPhone 17's record of 2.8 million viewers.
The September Direct lasted almost 90 minutes and included many major announcements. Nintendo revealed details about the Nintendo Switch 2, confirmed the release of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the new console, and announced the premiere date of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie — April 3, 2026. They showed Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, a new Fire Emblem, and DLC for Donkey Kong Bananza. The peak of viewers came during the trailer for Resident Evil: Requiem.
StreamCharts notes that two of the four most-watched Nintendo Directs have taken place in the last two years, confirming interest in the company's "hardware" and games. The Nintendo channel in Japan gathered more than 1.5 million peak viewers, and streamers Marc “caedrel” Lamont, Maximilian Dood, and mistermv ensured high engagement worldwide.
In total, the presentation was watched for 3.2 million hours, making it the second-highest in terms of consistent audience for a Direct in Nintendo's history.
