According to insiderThe Hidden One, the project will be released next year and will offer a completely new look at the adventures of Edward Kenway, while preserving the spirit of the original.

The main innovation will be a complete abandonment of modern storylines - the remake will focus entirely on the pirate era, adding several hours of new story, including previously cut episodes with a more detailed story of Mary Read, which were almost missed in 2013.

"The combat system and world exploration will be reworked in the style of the role-playing elements of the latest installments in the series, such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla," the source notes. Edward will receive an equipment and leveling system with loot and characteristics, and the battles will become less cinematic and more tactical.

Separately, it is worth emphasizing the absence of loading screens between land and ship for complete immersion. The map will not increase, but the islands will become more saturated with activities and side quests, which will revive the game world.

The remake is being created on the new Anvil Pipeline engine, which was used in Assassin's Creed Shadows, and some of the graphic resources are taken from Skull & Bones, but without noticeable simplification.

Release is planned for early 2026 (most likely March), although there is a possibility of shifting the release to the end of the year. According to the insider, this is not a remake at the level of Resident Evil 2 or Silent Hill 2, but a modern reworking of the classic for veterans and new players.
