The creators of Ratatan openly acknowledge the connection to the Patapon series. The game has been released in Steam Early Access and has gathered more players than the PC versions of the first two installments of the franchise.
After a long wait, the project from Ratata Arts and TVT studios has appeared in Steam Early Access. Despite being a roguelike, the gameplay is based on giving simple commands to the rhythm of the music. The visual and musical style also resembles Patapon — the game was worked on by the original 2007 designer Hiroyuki Kotani and composer Kenmei Adachi. Although little time has passed since the release, the project already has a significant number of active users.
Since launch, it hasn't been long, but Ratatan peaked at 4467 players. The figure is impressive: even after a slight decrease, it remains higher than that of Patapon 1+2 Replay. For comparison, the remaster from Bandai Namco attracted 3296 players at its best moments.
