Copyright law has found an interesting application in the field of insider information.
A render leak of a Bowser Jr. figurine, which is being prepared by Jakks Pacific, has appeared online. Although the model was disassembled and unpainted, users quickly recognized Bowser's son in it. Soon, publications with the image disappeared from YouTube and X/Twitter — at the request of NBCUniversal, citing copyright infringement in relation to the Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
For fans, this became another confirmation of Bowser Jr.'s appearance in the upcoming film. Previously, the character was mentioned in an erroneously published synopsis from the Cinepolis El Salvador cinema chain: "New threats, old rivalries, and a battle reaching for the stars. Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi team up against Wario and Bowser Jr."
It remains to wait for official confirmation from Nintendo. The premiere of Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled for April 3, 2026.
