At the same time, criticism of some mechanics is emerging. One of the main reasons for the disputes is the sledgehammer.
Judging by the new videos, it takes only 12 hits to demolish an entire building. The video, which shows this process, looks frankly strange and does not fit well with the stated concept of a "realistic shooter." The developers explain that they must maintain a balance between arcade and realism, but this example caused bewilderment among many. The situation is aggravated by the fact that the sledgehammer has the status of a knife – an item available to any class.
Several major discussions have unfolded on Reddit. Players have suggested their own ideas for correcting the situation:
- "The number of hits needs to be increased at least threefold." — nTzT
- "The sledgehammer should break thin walls and floors, but not supporting structures; explosives are for that." — Inqinity
- "Each building should have two layers of destruction: an external one, accessible to sledgehammers and small explosives, and a load-bearing one, which is destroyed only by C4 or tank shells. Right now, it's just absurd." — SpaceRac1st
Players agree on one thing: the problem needs to be solved as soon as possible, preferably before release. As a reminder, the premiere of Battlefield 6 is scheduled for October 10, 2025.
