Treyarch, answering questions from CharlieIntel journalists regarding the SBMM (Skill-based matchmaking) system and the lobbies that are formed anew for each match, admitted that they can't do anything about it, since the decision to integrate these systems does not lie with the developers.
Although the methods of forming lobbies for matches are not so actively criticized by Call of Duty fans, indignation about the SBMM system, which uses clever algorithms to select matches taking into account many different indicators of the player, has been going on for many years. Allegedly designed to make matches better by gathering players of approximately the same level in the lobby, SBMM rarely copes with its stated duties, which often results in cases where one team is significantly weaker than the other.
