The community of the cooperative shooter Helldivers 2 continues to complain. After the recent major update, performance has noticeably decreased, the game has started crashing, and after the release of subsequent patches, the situation has not fundamentally improved.
This is reflected in the Helldivers 2 rating on Steam, with recent reviews being "mixed" — players are expressing their dissatisfaction.
Arrowhead Game Studios has heard the feedback and released a special statement about the state of Helldivers 2 and shared their future plans.
Around mid-October, they intend to release an update that includes:
- Some key crash fixes
- Fixes for primary/secondary weapon audio cutting out during missions.
- Small performance improvements
- Long overdue bug fixes, such as Charger footstep sounds (quite useful) or weapon audio cutting out mid-mission.
- No more spawning inside caves
Work is also underway on "...a larger plan to address some major issues. In the short term, we think the above measures will lead to a noticeable improvement, and in the future, we will continue to work on the core issues that you constantly talk about."
