Data from the Ampere Games Analytics report shows that Xbox users launch more different games per month than PlayStation or PC owners.
In August 2025, Xbox owners played an average of 5.7 projects, while Steam users played 4.5, and PlayStation only 3.7, which is 35% less than on Xbox.
The main factor in the difference is the Game Pass subscription, which most Xbox players use. In August 2025, the Game Pass library included more than 500 available games. Despite the fact that PlayStation Plus Premium offers almost 1,000 games, Xbox users are more actively exploring the available content.
But a larger number of projects does not mean that Xbox gamers spend more time playing games. In August, the average gaming hour for Xbox owners was 7.7 hours, while PlayStation users spent 12.7 hours, and Steam users spent 11.9 hours.
