Deep Silver and Nine Dots Studio have released a new trailer for Outward 2 and announced that the game will be released in the summer of 2026. This is a return to the world of Aurai, where players will once again become ordinary travelers, not heroes capable of saving the world. Every choice and mistake has consequences — from being robbed by bandits to being saved by a random stranger.
The sequel emphasizes realism and complex mechanics. Three starting scenarios and eleven life paths allow you to shape your character from the very beginning. Players will have to go through a full year of changing weather — in winter, frozen rivers will become new routes, and merchants and NPCs will move to other locations. Each of the four regions will offer a unique climate, biomes, and challenges.
The combat system will become more complex. Each weapon has its own set of animations, more combinations, and combat tools. Magic requires rituals, such as sending a fire stone into the air to create a fire circle that enhances abilities. The Training system affects the development of the hero depending on the style of play.
Equipment is also important — during combat, a backpack can get in the way, so it's better to take it off. But there will be a mule to help carry the loot. All this makes Outward 2 a combination of survival and role-playing game.
