Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have returned with a new album written specifically for the upcoming sequel to the «Tron» franchise.
Despite having only two films in its catalog, not counting the upcoming third, the «Tron» franchise has always relied on a powerful soundtrack — the original «Tron» film from 1982 featured compositions by Wendy Carlos, who also worked on Stanley Kubrick's «The Shining» and «A Clockwork Orange», while «Tron: Legacy» from 2010 greeted viewers with compositions by the iconic Daft Punk.
Now, the tradition will be continued by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who are participating in the project not as authors of the original soundtrack, which is not new for them, but as the group Nine Inch Nails with its characteristic sound.
According to director Joachim Rønning, this is what gave the project the necessary impetus and sound, which will reflect the penetration of the virtual world into the real world — a more industrial, "rough" one, which is what the plot of the triquel will be about.

In his previous statements, Joachim Rønning promised to take viewers to a "new level", declaring an innovative shooting technique that imitates shooting through the eyes of a program, and a new level of visual effects for the industry. The new film has already become one of the most anticipated releases of this fall, and the participation of Nine Inch Nails has only fueled interest in the premiere.
The album TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Nine Inch Nails is already available on a number of popular streaming services.
