According to the latest report from the Computer Entertainment Association, the organizer of the Tokyo Game Show, 51% of Japanese studios are already using artificial intelligence in development.
According to Nikkei, AI is most often used to generate graphics and video — including characters, as well as to create plots, dialogues, and help with writing code. At the same time, 32% of companies are implementing artificial intelligence when developing their own game engines.
The study involved both large publishers — Capcom, Konami, FromSoftware, Square Enix, and Sega, as well as small independent teams.
Experts predict an increase in this indicator. The reason is simple: artificial intelligence makes production faster, cheaper, and easier. But at the same time, criticism of new technologies is increasing. Despite the disputes, it seems that the presence of AI in the gaming industry has become irreversible.
