The author of the YouTube channel Any Austin has returned with another game investigation. This time, he decided to study Red Dead Redemption 2.

The blogger took a walk around the town of Rhodes and noticed the wires: they connected each building to electricity and led somewhere. He traced the path of the line and it all came down to a window in the Atlantic Electrical Company building, located in the industrial area of the largest city, Saint Denis. Thus, two separate cities were connected to a single electricity supplier.

Then Any Austin asked himself: what about other, more remote cities? To find out, he conducted a large-scale study, mapping the electrical grids in the world of RDR 2 for weeks.

He managed to find a fatal error made by Rockstar in Red Dead Redemption 2 when creating the electrical grid. From a physics point of view, such an electricity supply system is simply impossible.

Along the railway tracks in the game are actually not "power lines", but telegraph lines — they do not carry electricity. As of 1899, there were practically no long-distance power lines (there were exceptions like "Niagara Falls - Buffalo").

When transmitting electricity over long distances, it loses power. This problem can be solved by making the voltage very, very high, but then another problem arises — electricity can jump from the line like lightning to a nearby tree and cause a fire; for this reason, electricity is placed high on transmission towers.

And in general, to deliver electricity over long distances, special equipment is needed, and in 1899 it simply did not exist (as in the game).

Thus, the idea that a single power plant from the city of Saint Denis can supply everyone, including cities very remote from the source, is "complete fiction, it was simply impossible to do".
