Currently, the authors of Path of Exile 2 are preparing for the release of a major update 0.4.0. However, some improvements were decided to be presented earlier, as part of patch 0.3.1.

The PoE 2 developers have heard the community's request — from now on, towers are no longer required to use the Predecessor tiles. Instead, tiles can be placed in the Map Device to add their bonuses directly to the map.

Some other changes:

· Tiles now have a fixed number of uses, as indicated in their own property.

· Each time a tile is used when passing a map, the number of remaining uses on the tile decreases. When it reaches zero, the tile is destroyed.

· You can use up to 3 tiles with each map, but the number of available slots depends on the number of map properties. A map with 6 properties will allow you to use all 3 slots for tiles in the Map Device.

· You cannot use tiles on areas that you have already tried to pass.

· Towers can still be used to get an overview in the Atlas, plus they will also drop an additional Predecessor tile as a reward for completing them.

· Non-unique tiles now have 10 uses instead of 12-18, or, in the case of the Watchstone tile, 10 uses instead of 2-4.

· Since your tiles are now directly applied to maps, you can now add the desired content to each map you pass (provided you have enough tiles). However, the ceiling for the amount of content on one map has been lowered. Overall, this leads to a more even gaming experience, but to prevent this ceiling from dropping too low, we have strengthened the properties on the tiles:

· Fixed a bug due to which the interaction button on the controller could stop working after interacting with a chest.

· Fixed an issue due to which players on PlayStation could hear crackling when playing sound or the sound was cut off.

· Fixed a possible client freeze when entering a new area after respawning while playing in a group.

· Fixed some cases of DirectX 12 renderer crash.

· Crash fixes on various platforms
