The game is created by SoulAge23 and puts the player at the "helm" of the giant train-city Steelpolis. Initially, the project was conceived as a demonstration of technological power and economic influence, but times have changed: the Great Empire is on the verge of collapse, the treasury is empty, and the infrastructure is crumbling. Steelpolis is the last hope of civilization, and the player is appointed mayor.
Steel Artery is a management game, but closer to Dwarf Fortress, meaning residents cannot be directly controlled. They make their own decisions based on needs and desires.
The settlement can include different races: humans, elves, and orcs. Each has its own history, cooperation brings benefits, and cultural differences can cause tension. You can also focus on one faction, facing its unique limitations.
Steelpolis has a full-fledged economy: buildings produce or consume resources, workers get paid and spend in taverns and canteens. The city moves along the rails, opening up opportunities for stops in resource areas, but space is limited.
SoulAge23 plans to release Steel Artery in late 2025. The game can be added to your wishlist on Steam.
