Elon Musk has confirmed that his company xAI is working on a video game "entirely created by artificial intelligence." The project is scheduled to premiere at the end of 2026, and according to Musk, it is one of the most ambitious experiments combining AI technology and the entertainment industry.
He made the announcement on the X platform, writing:
"xAI will ship a great game created by artificial intelligence by the end of next year."
This is the first official confirmation that xAI, known for the Grok conversational system, is entering the video game market.
According to Business Insider, the company has already begun recruiting "video game instructors" who will train neural networks to create gameplay, mechanics, and narrative. Payment reaches $100 per hour, which shows the seriousness of Musk's investment in the development of AI development.
Previously, projects using AI to generate dialogue and levels have already appeared in the industry, but no game has yet been completely created by artificial intelligence. If Musk fulfills his promise, this could be the beginning of a new era where neural networks cease to be a tool and become full-fledged game authors.
