Atlus celebrated the first anniversary of Metaphor: ReFantazio, but instead of big announcements, fans only saw an advertisement for a new digital edition. Players were hoping for something big: DLC, an expanded re-release, or a port to Switch 2. But the result was more modest — the company simply presented the Guidebook Edition.
The version will be released in early 2026 and includes a digital artbook, soundtrack, and official walkthrough guide. Moreover, the guide is incomplete — it is a shortened version of the physical edition.
Those who have already purchased the Atlus 35th Anniversary Digital Deluxe Edition will get the guide for free. A small but nice bonus.
Also in the video, the developers and actors of the English voice acting thanked the players for their support. Although no news was announced, the team emphasized that they are happy with the attention to the game and its success.
Fans were disappointed: they expected something more from the anniversary event than just a digital set of materials.
