During the IGN Fan Fest, Obsidian showcased new gameplay for The Outer Worlds 2. The trailer features combat snippets with new weapons set to retro music reminiscent of Fallout.
Among the standout items are a corrosive substance sprayer, perfect for dissolving bodies, and a wrist-mounted grenade launcher that fires fireworks. There's also a two-handed melee weapon resembling a pizza cutter and a massive hammer. In some shots, Valerie, one of the six new companions, appears, providing fire support.
The trailer demonstrates snippets of third-person gameplay. The perspective looks convincing, considering Obsidian didn't initially plan to add the mode.
The Outer Worlds 2 will be released on October 29, 2025, on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and will also be available on Game Pass. Xbox and PC owners can already pre-load the game before release.
