Warhammer 40,000 fans have another reason to celebrate, as writer Guy Haley and Black Library are set to release the book "Archmagos" this year, dedicated to the adventures of Belisarius Cawl, one of the highest-ranking members of the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Belisarius Cawl is a well-known figure in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. This intriguing member of the Adeptus Mechanicus was initially a supporting character in Guy Haley's "Dark Imperium" trilogy.
He then became the main protagonist in the books "Belisarius Cawl: The Great Work" and "Genefather."
Now, Black Library and writer Guy Haley have announced another book dedicated to the adventures of this Tech-Priest. It is titled "Archmagos".
The new story will focus on Cawl's continued efforts to stabilize the Attilan Rift at the behest of Roboute Guilliman, to provide another potentially functioning route for crossing the Great Rift. To bring his great work to fruition, he needs one last item — a series of control codes preserved on an ancient Necron world.
The catch is that this planet is stuck on the event horizon of a black hole, significantly increasing the risk. To accomplish his mission, Cawl will need to gather recruits from across the Adeptus Mechanicus. And to make matters worse, the Archmagos's meddling in matters best left untouched has attracted the attention of a like-minded but far more malevolent artificer (rumor has it that Vashtorr the Arkifane has also begun to stir).
"Archmagos" will be available later in 2025 in hardcover, e-book, and MP3 audiobook formats. A special edition is also in the works, featuring a fancy cover and all the usual accoutrements, as well as the short story "Five Questions," in which Alpha Primus seeks answers in the Warp to questions that Cawl will not answer.
