The update, known in the community as Loot 3.0, was presented at a special meeting with fans. This was not a regular stream — Blizzard chose to communicate through Rhykkeren, a popular Diablo streamer. It was there that the expression "Doomsday" for Diablo 4 was heard — a revolution capable of redefining the entire game.
The update will change the combat, progression, and item systems, ratings will return, and iconic bosses will appear in Sanctuary: Andariel, Duriel, Belial, and Azmodan — the first new World Boss since release. Each demon will receive unique activities and rewards in the form of Corrupted Essences, unlocking exclusive items.
With Season 11, the Divine Gifts system will be introduced: players will be able to choose between the blessings and curses of Archangel Hadriel — Purified Gifts make the game easier and double the rewards, Corrupted Gifts increase the difficulty and give powerful bonuses. This is no longer "seasonal powers," but a new progression system for variety and long game life.
The Tempering and Masterworking systems have been completely redesigned. Now you can accurately select affixes without the risk of losing the item. Masterworking enhances the new Quality parameter, which affects damage, armor, or resistances. Reaching Quality 20 unlocks the Capstone Bonus, turning a regular affix into a "Greater Affix." The improvement process has been simplified, items are not lost, and the base affixes have been increased from three to four.
