The Subnautica series has become so popular that a sequel is already in the works. Polish studio Space Goblin is capitalizing on audience interest and will present its own project — Astrobotanica.
The game resembles Subnautica in structure and gameplay, but the events unfold not underwater, but on land.
In the spring, Astrobotanica easily raised funding on Kickstarter, and is now preparing for release. The game will be released on February 16, 2026 in early access format.
Along with the announcement, the authors published a new trailer with game scenes. A demo version is available on Steam, which can be downloaded via link.
The developers promise a combination of science fiction, exploration and survival in an unusual ecosystem of an alien world.
It is also worth recalling that at this time the team working on the new Subnautica is facing a number of production problems.
