After the end of Windows 10 support, many users are switching to Linux

With the recent end of the ten-year cycle of Windows 10, millions of people have been left without updates - about 40% of all system users. Instead of switching to Windows 11, many are choosing alternative operating systems.

Based on Gnome,Zorin OS 18 was recently released and is positioned as a complete replacement for Windows and macOS. In the first two days, it was downloaded 200,000 times, of which 72% were Windows users. The OS allows you to customize the interface to any familiar option - Windows 7, 10, 11 or macOS, which makes it an ideal option for Linux beginners.

Zorin OS 18 also supports running Windows applications through integration with Wine 10, translating system calls in real time. Users who decide to stay on Windows 10 risk being attacked: Microsoft offers a one-year security extension for $61.

Upgrading to Windows 11 is difficult for most due to strict hardware requirements, including TPM 2.0. An upgrade will require replacing devices for 200 million users, so switching to Linux or even returning to Windows 7 remains the most practical choice.
