User spending on game streaming devices decreased by 9%
According to data from Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, presented in the US sales report for September 2025, more than 5% of PlayStation 5 owners have also purchased a PlayStation Portal. This means that among 20 PlayStation fans, there is at least one owner of a gamepad with a screen.
Piscatella also stated that spending on game streaming devices decreased by 9% year-over-year.
Rumor has it that Sony is investing in the development of a portable gaming device like Steam Deck and ASUS Rog Ally, which will be released along with PlayStation 6 and will be able to run games independently, rather than just streaming them from the console.
