On October 21, the anime «The Apothecary Diaries» turned two years old. TOHO celebrated the event with a showing of an anniversary video and new details.
Studio TOHO animation has announced the release dates for the third season of the anime «The Apothecary Diaries». As it became known during the broadcast dedicated to the second anniversary of the series, the premiere of the first part will take place in October 2026, and the second in April 2027.
The fact that «The Apothecary Diaries» would receive a sequel became known back in the summer of 2025, shortly after the finale of the second season. Now the creators have clarified the release schedule and confirmed that the third season will be divided into two cours.
TOHO animation is still in charge of production, and the author of the original novels, Natsu Hyuga, is again involved in the work. According to representatives of the studio, the new chapter will continue to explore the court intrigues of the Tang era and reveal new facets of the heroine Maomao, known for her keen observation and unorthodox treatment methods.

In addition to the third season, TOHO also announced a full-length anime, which will premiere in December 2026 in Japan and in early 2027 in international venues. Thus, viewers will have something to fill the wait between the two parts of the season.
