Puzzle-platformer CATO: Buttered Cat, which received 98% positive reviews on Steam, is now available on mobile devices.
The unconventional platformer CATO: Buttered Cat from independent studio Team Woll has been released on iOS and Android. Crunchyroll Games is publishing the mobile version, so users from Russia, as with other projects from the company, will have to find alternative ways to download it.
CATO: Buttered Cat answers the age-old question: what happens if you combine a cat that always lands on its feet with a buttered toast that always falls butter-side down? The result is a gravitational paradox that forms the basis for the unusual gameplay. The player controls Cat and Toast, combining their abilities to solve spatial puzzles, activate the "buttered cat effect," and discover hidden routes.
The game became the debut for the duo Team Woll, whose members met at the BOOOM game jam in 2022. Initially, the project was conceived as an experiment, but it quickly grew into a full-fledged adventure, receiving rave reviews on Steam — 98% positive based on more than 2250 reviews.
The mobile version includes all the content of the original: more than 140 main and 60 additional levels, over 200 puzzles, mini-games, bosses, secret rooms, and more than 70 variations of the appearance of Cat and Toast. The controls have been adapted for touch screens, and the interface has been redesigned to take into account the features of smartphones. Localization into Russian is also available.
