In the finale of "Stranger Things", Vecna will become a threat to the real world.
In the fifth and final season of "Stranger Things", viewers will meet an updated Vecna. The Duffer brothers, the creators of the series, said in an interview with Empire that they are preparing "Vecna 2.0" - a stronger, more dangerous and sinister opponent than before. If in the fourth season the antagonist acted through dreams and hallucinations, now he is able to cause harm in the real world.
"We call him Vecna 2.0 because he has changed. This time he is not limited to the Upside Down. He can act in Hawkins, and that makes him scarier than ever. In the fourth season, he killed by penetrating the mind, and now he is able to beat and maim in the literal sense. He's like Freddy Krueger on steroids."
According to actor Jamie Campbell Bower, who played Henry Creel (Vecna), there is still a human being hidden behind the mask of the monster.
"Vecna was a child who lacked love and acceptance. For me, he has always remained a very lonely figure. He just wanted to create a better world - the way he imagined it."
The creators note that in the last season, viewers will see not only a monster, but also the tragedy of a man who became the embodiment of evil. This internal conflict, according to the Duffers, will become one of the key motives of the finale.
The premiere of the last season will take place on Netflix on November 27.
