Xbox President, Sarah Bond, believes that the concept of exclusive games is outdated. In an interview, she stated that players now want to play anywhere and with anyone — whether it's a console, PC, or cloud services.
Bond emphasized that Xbox's goal today is to unite people, not divide them by platform. She cited Minecraft, Fortnite, and Call of Duty as examples, large communities of which are available on almost all devices.
"Players want to play with their friends anywhere, regardless of what they're doing. That's what we're striving for, opening up new ways to play through the cloud, PC, and home consoles."
Microsoft is now changing its approach: instead of betting on exclusives, the company is making games more accessible, without being tied to a single console.
