Producer Yusuke Tomizawa spoke about future remasters and the next major installment in the JRPG series.
In an interview, he shared the development status of several Tales of games, confirming that one of the remasters will be announced "relatively soon", and the remaster of Tales of Xillia 2 is still in production.
According to Tomizawa, there are currently at least two Tales of remaster projects in development, at different stages of development — from early testing to finalization. Specific titles are not disclosed, but the announcement of the next remaster is not far off.
The producer also noted that more than 70% of the series' sales come from foreign markets, which reflects the growth of the global audience and the expansion of the console market, rather than a decline in interest in Japan.
The team is working on a new installment of Tales of, but the official announcement will take time.
The remaster of Tales of Xillia — an improved version of the 2011 game for PlayStation 3 — will be the next major release in the series.
The release is scheduled for October 31, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
