The average Steam rating for Civilization 7 remains at 47%, meaning players are still dissatisfied. Despite several updates, the atmosphere around the project has not changed.
Firaxis is not giving up and continues to improve the game. The developers have presented the first part of the major Tides of Power expansion, which will feature Edward Teach (aka Blackbeard), the Pirate Republic, and the Kingdom of Tonga. You can get them for free from November 4th, but the offer is only valid until January 5th, 2026. The new trailer shows Blackbeard leading his state.
This is just the beginning, as the second part of Tides of Power will add Sayyida al-Hurra, the Ottoman Empire, and Iceland. If you claim the first part before January, the second will also be free. Firaxis has promised to reveal details in early November, including instructions on how to add the collection to your account.
