Tales of Xillia Remastered, a new game within the Bandai Namco "Tale of Remastered Project", will be released on October 31st, a port to modern platforms of the 13th installment of the JRPG franchise. Before the release, general producer Yusuke Tomizawa spoke about the progress of the remasters and their perception.
Tomizawa confirmed that there are currently more than two remasters in development. One project is close to the final stage, and an official announcement is expected in the near future.
Regarding player feedback, the team believes it is successful that the remasters are released simultaneously in multiple regions and on different platforms. Tomizawa clarified that more than 70% of the series' players are located outside of Japan.
The producer noted that with the growth of the foreign audience, it became obvious: "When we show JRPGs to the world, the love for the characters is the same regardless of the country." The reactions of foreign players do not differ much from the Japanese, "and that's good." Therefore, the team focuses on creating engaging games that are true to the spirit of the Tales of series, rather than trying to please a foreign audience.
