Supercell, the creators of mobile hits Clash Royale and Brawl Stars, have announced the end of development and the upcoming closure of Squad Busters. The project will cease to exist in the second half of 2026.
The game was released in May 2024 on iOS and Android but did not achieve its goals. During its existence, Squad Busters brought the company about $100 million — a result that Supercell considered unsatisfactory. In December, the project will receive its last update, after which support will be completely discontinued.
In-game purchases will be unavailable. Players who made payments in 2025 will be able to transfer the spent funds to other studio projects: Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Hay Day, or Boom Beach.
According to PocketGamer, the decision to close was made after several attempts to attract a new audience, which were unsuccessful. The developers of Squad Busters will move to other Supercell projects.
